Episode 1

With a calm voice and a tone that indicates detachment, a participant enumerates the difficulties he faces in his work. From the economic hardship brought by the financial crisis and worsened by the pandemic to customer demands and the pressure they put on him, mainly in terms of time, he summarises the most challenging aspects he encounters in his work.

F.=Facilitator, P.=Participant

P. 1: May I say?

F. 1: Yes, please go ahead.

P. 1: One issue is financial. After the crisis and later with the coronavirus, it's a bit tough. Another problem we face at work is interventions on the job.

F. 1: From superiors, you mean?

P. 1: From the customers.

P. 1: What I usually say is, "the hillbilly wants, the painter won't, they painted St. George with brogans (tsarouchia)" [wanting the impossible]. It's literal. It's true. In the end, you do it, and you say, "Here, take it." And the third one is time pressure. Sometimes it's intense at work.

F. 1: "I want it yesterday, and it better be good."

P. 1: Yes. It doesn't always have negative results, but it's pressure. What you experience is pressure.
